Workout Regularly So Your Children See Your Example And Pick Up The Habit

There are many reasons to continue or start working out in life. I am sure you can think of a few them yourself. However, the reason that should loom the largest is your children. Your children need to see working out being important in your life instead of hearing about it.

It seems our society is getting fatter and fatter these days. With all the processed foods, poor eating habits, and lack of physical exercise, there is no wonder this is true. People don’t seem to appreciate the benefits of hard work and working out, but they should.

In order to jump start you in the right direction this year, we thought appealing to your love of your children to get the results you deserve. Your children are watching every step and move you make. They observe more than you think they do no matter what their age. Therefore, you need to workout regularly so your children see your example and pick up the habit.

Set a Great Example – Our children watch our every move. Therefore, if they grow up with you, the parents, working out regularly and taking good care of your health, then they will do the same. They will value working out, health, and taking care of their body as well. This is a habit you should desire to pass along to your children.

Extra Energy – A regular workout routine is great for you physically. It will allow you to have extra energy to play with your children like you have always wanted to do. Working out is tough in the beginning, but as you stick with it you are able to see the benefits of working out by being in better shape, weighing less, and having more energy to play with the family.

Better Health – There is no denying the more you workout the better shape you will be. This is something you need to aim for because better health means you will be around longer for your children. No one had children not to be able to see them grow into the responsible adults we desire them to become. Get your butt into gear and workout regularly to set the bar for your children and make sure you are in the best shape possible.

This article is not just a bunch of preaching. We workout regularly in our home for these reasons. Our children unconsciously know working out is very important because they have seen us working out their entire lives. We have always had gym memberships, so they know we were leaving to workout. While the oldest was in Tae Kwon Doe, the family would go to the gym for practice and we, the parents, would workout during that time.

We have done P90X in the home, so the kids have been part of these workouts. They have seen the sweat, hardwork, and dedication time and time again. They have even participated in some of the workouts and felt how difficult it is to complete.

Krystal and I have have trained and competed in 5k’s, half marathons, and a full marathon. Running has always been a strong tradition in our household, so the kids have seen first hand how we work out. We use to have a treadmill in basement where we would run indoors, but a flood took that out. However, not even this disaster can stop us from setting the bar on workouts in the lives of our children.

Working out regularly is something that has long been a staple of our family. Maybe this is the year for you to make it a stable in yours. Your children don’t need another sermon on why working out is so important in their lives. Your children need you to show them and be the example of why working out is so important.
